Southern Comfort

It’s hot here on the carp flats this time of year and the experienced southern angler knows how to be prepared. A quick stop at Bo’s on the way to the launch to carry him though the morning and a dip into the cooler to revive him when the mid-day sun cooks the top of his head. Think hummingbird nectar followed by a cool, refreshing rain.

Sustenance. Survival. Southern Comfort.

Please. Partake responsibly. Put safety above all else. Have just one and live to fish another day.

Styrofoam cups keep beer cold.

I hear ya, Clif. But, honestly, I hate drinking anything from styrofoam.

A dip into the cooler for a mid morning brew...better keep hydrated, could be a long day.

A good point, Sanders, but here's the question. Does a beer count as hydration or does the alcohol negate the fluid intake? I've always wondered but have never reached a satisfactory conclusion, despite lots of personal research.

Carp flats... that's why I love you, brother...

Just trying to keep up with you, bro. If it's got fins, we'll give it a try.

PBR in North Cackillacky? Wow. Back when I used to come down to Greenville to chase women, we would always drink...wait....nevermind those stories.

When I lived in Boone, we would just...errrr....

You know what? PBR. Let's go with that ;)

ECU and ASU, huh? I'd stick with the PBR story too. Definitely.

Exactly! Although you can check out today's post on my blog (a follow up to Howard Levett's "My Fishing History" contest) and see some of the fine quality type of young ladies I was hanging around and that age...

In the words of Liz Lemon "I want to go to there." Hot. Thirsty. Fishing. Cooler. Beer. Yum Yums in my Tum Tums. (was that weird?)

Mike Sepelak said...

Ummm, maybe just a little weird, Ivan, but entirely understandable. Cheers!

Mike, that dashboard looks like the headwaters of a well known carp hole.....the Runs River. I hope you brought some Pepto too.

Mike Sepelak said...

Nah, RR. No Pepto required. The tum tum's pretty used to this combination by now. (Damn you Ivan!)
