The Photo Bin - November 2011
A photo bin for November simply must be all about fall colors. Each of these three images was taken within spitting distance of the house. The scarlet dogwood, above, reaches for sun into the small clearing behind our home and, in autumn, really pops against the background yellow maples.
Purple might not be the first color you think of when you think of autumn but the fall fruit of this beautyberry, sitting just off our front steps, really catches the eye. Sadly, I missed them at their peak - but this ain't bad.
Finally, our small man-made pond, sitting on the ridge just above the house, provided this interesting abstract of maple, oak, and duckweed.
Didn't I just recently say I loved it here?
Now you can begin to see why.
I love that you're there. You just introduced me to beautyberries....wow!
ReplyDeletefall used to be my favorite season! but living in vegas we really don't get seasons. Great photos!
ReplyDeleteAmazing colours Mike. Lifted a very, very grey day here so thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks Erin. The beautyberries are aptly named, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteDustin, there's no doubt that fall is MY favorite. It would kill me to miss it.
And Chris, you're welcome. Grey days are upon us, so find your colors where you can.
Indeed...I do think!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm convinced that you love it there...and with good reason.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos.
ReplyDeleteThose berries are brilliant.
Howard, I warned you a couple of posts ago that I could be annoying in this regard. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm not annoyed Mike, quite the contrary I love seeing places I haven't been before. I'll make it there one of these days.
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous capture. *sigh* :)
